Award-winning harpist Úna ní Fhlannagáin is rooted in Irish traditional music, but also branches out into jazz, pop, and original composition. Collaborations include Grammy-winner Bobby McFerrin, Emmy-winner Fionnuala Flanagan, and the free jazz legend, Anthony Braxton.
A first-class honours music graduate, this year she won Ireland’s prestigious Irish traditional music competition, the Bonn Óir.
Úna is passionate about music education, and is the first person in the world to have qualified as a Suzuki teacher on Irish harp. She founded the harp department in Athenry Music School, which currently has over 60 harp students and 4 teachers.
She loves teaching 3-year-olds, eating mango, and swimming in the sea!
